Photoshop Project : Public Relations and its Realms

In the photoshop project, I created an image that represents all the elements that the public relations field encompasses. I created this image as it highlights the different facets of my career pathway. Designing this image allowed me to reflect upon the numerous components of my career and showcase this to my fellow peers.

To design this image, I utilized many Photoshop tools. The first utilization of these tools was through the background. To create the background, I first chose two colors (blue and white) and then used the gradient tool to create a contrast between the colors. From there I went to filter scrolled down to render and hit clouds, this created the background for the image. Next came adding the text and text boxes. I created the center text “Public Relations” by adding a text box to the center of the screen followed by adding a drop shadow effect to this text. From there I added ellipses around the middle text and added text boxes inside of each of these ellipses. Lines were then added to connect these ellipses to the center text. Finally, an image was added of an arm holding up a megaphone to make it look like this message was being shouted out by someone. To add this image, I first found an image on unsplash.com copied it, added it to photoshop then used the magic eraser tool to eliminate the unwanted components of the image. I then moved the image to where I wanted it to be located and downloaded my finished work.

Reflecting on this project, originally, I found it to be quite difficult. I struggled to apply the different elements and features needed to create a successful image. I found myself continually going back to the videos and information provided for this project. Yet, as I continued to work through the project, completing all the components became easier and almost fun. Completing this project showed that I can work through difficult projects and showed how this tool can be useful later in my career.
