Productivity Tools

Throughout my schooling experience I have been introduced to a multitude of productivity tools that have expanded my abilities to create different documents that are useful in the school, work and personal level.

A tool that has benefited me greatly is the use of Google Workplace. Google workplace  includes programs such as Docs, Slides, Forms, Sheets, Classroom, and Drive. Each program has a unique function that is easy to use and allows you to work on the go, collaborate with others, and transfer work among the programs.

Google Docs acts as a word processor that allows you to create documents and collaborate with others. The program includes many templates for these  documents including resumes, letters, and brochures. Docs also provides the author with the ability to  easily share and collaborate on these documents through the share icon. Here the author can allow others to view or edit the document

Google slides is an online presentation application that is meant to act as a resource that can be utilized by many people at once. An app that students and businesses alike can work together on the same presentation at the same time. Similar to Google Docs, Slides also includes multiple templates that can assist in the making of the presentation in terms of design and included features.

Google Forms is an application that is employed to create forms, surveys, and quizzes that can be used to gauge an audience’s level of knowledge, their interest in a topic, and/or get an answer to a question. Forms can be used in the workplace to evaluate workers' level of engagement and where they stand on assignments and can also be used in the school environment by educators to evaluate their students' level of knowledge at any time of the course.

Google Sheets acts as an application that allows for you to create spreadsheets and graphs that can be shared and worked on by multiple people at once. Sheets is especially useful when dealing with a large amount of numbers as it allows for you to create an organized list of values that can then be evaluated and utilized all in the same space. This in return saves time and resources as you do not have to use multiple applications to create the needed graphs or evaluation methods to see the results.

Google Classroom is an application that provides teachers the opportunity to put class information on the page, assign, collect, and grade homework assignments and keep track of their students’ progress. This application is beneficial to both the teacher and student as it acts as an app that  can be used to keep track of work assigned, progress made, and grades. In this new world of technology it is more common to see many teachers utilizing this application in almost every grade level from kindergarten to twelfth grade.

Google Drive acts as the application that holds all of the files and information created in all of the other Google Workplace applications. Drive allows for these files to be saved and accessed at any time through any mobile device including computers and phones.
