Quizlet
Quizlet is a platform that allows students and teachers to create digital flashcards that can be studied in numerous formats. These formats include the traditional flashcard method, matching, fill-in-the-blank, and quiz-style questions. This app acts as a great study tool for most students as it allows them to upload their study material and study quickly and easily in numerous ways in any location.
I have used Quizlet to study for quizzes and exams throughout high school and college. With this, I have had a great experience with the app. Utilizing all of Quizlet’s features from being able to look up other students' study sets and create my own to the multiple study methods the app provides, I can attribute a great deal of my success on quizzes and exams to the Quizlet app.
Kahoot
Kahoot is a game-based learning tool that many teachers will utilize in the classroom setting to help students prepare for quizzes and tests. To use this app the teacher will create questions in multiple formats including true/false, multiple choice, fill in the blank, and puzzle. Then teachers can assign the Kahoot to the class where a code will be given to the student that they can input into the Kahoot app or website. From there, students can answer each question seeing after each one the correct answer and will receive points for getting the correct answer based on how fast he or she answers each question. At the end of the created question, Kahoot shows the top three scorers and their scores.
Throughout middle school and high school, I had numerous teachers utilize Kahoot in the classroom setting. I remember always being so excited to walk in and see that we were playing Kahoot that day. Kahoot’s game-like structure is an interactive fun way to learn and study class information that engages almost all students including myself.
